Privacy policy

Your photos stay under your control.

Moji is a photo decorating app that works without an account. Photo editing, emoji rendering, saved brushes, projects, and the emoji jar run on your device. Moji does not send your photos, edits, emoji choices, brush contents, text, or motion readings to us.

Photos and local storage

You choose photos through Apple's system photo picker. Moji stores a local copy of each imported still photo, its edits, and a thumbnail in the app's storage so you can continue editing later. Brush preferences, saved emoji combinations, and emoji stamp history are also stored locally. These files may be included in device backups controlled by your Apple settings. Moji does not provide its own cloud sync service.

Photo library permission and sharing

Moji asks for permission to add a photo to your library only when you choose Save to Photos. Your source photo is not overwritten. If you use Share or Instagram Stories, the finished image is passed to the destination you choose; that service's privacy policy applies to its handling of the image.

Anonymous product analytics

Moji uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand which features are useful and where the app needs improvement. Analytics may collect product interactions, an app-instance identifier, app and device information, approximate region derived from a masked IP address, and basic delivery diagnostics. We record actions such as choosing a brush style, applying a crop, opening the emoji jar, or completing an export. We do not send photo content, emoji or brush content, text, email addresses, account information, or precise location.

Analytics data is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Moji does not include ads and does not collect Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA). Firebase processes analytics data under Google's privacy and security terms. Learn more about Firebase privacy.

Motion

The emoji jar uses device motion to move its emoji while you play. Motion readings are processed on your device and are not saved or sent to us.

Deleting data

Delete a project from the home screen to remove its local photo, thumbnail, and editable project. Delete saved brushes through Manage. The jar keeps local emoji-use counts after projects are deleted; it does not keep a deleted project's photo. Deleting Moji from your device removes its local app data and resets its app instance. Photos you exported to your photo library and copies in device backups must be managed separately using Apple's controls.

Purchases

App Store purchases and payment information are handled by Apple. Moji does not ask for or store your payment card details.

Support

If you email us, we receive the email address and information you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your request. Please do not include private photos or other sensitive details unless needed for your support request. Contact us to request deletion of your support correspondence, subject to any recordkeeping requirements.
